Scarred in Love

The pink jarred lines,
Adorned her slender wrists.
A pool of liquid, satiny red;
Gathered below, from her slits.
Her face looked peaceful, though pale.
Red lush lips curled up;
As if mocking her fate.
Her body lay; lifeless,
Cocooned up like a fetus.
As if it were shielding her,
Away from suffering and pain.
Her hair fanned out behind;
Like black waves coursing through the covers.
Her dress, shimmered on her body,
A white bridal one; bewitchingly.
“Suicide”, the police said,
Ruling out any foul play.
Little did they know;
It was love,
Which smothered her to death.
